Lombard Pozzi

Lombard “Lom” Pozzi was a 1967 graduate of Rensselaer’s school of architecture and was a member of the first graduation class in Restoration and Preservation at Columbia University.  Lom worked as a historic preservation architect for the Rhode Island Historical Preservation Commission and later established his own private architecture practice.  Throughout his career Lom gained reknown for the restoration of old and neglected buildings, as well as his ability to integrate new construction into historic areas.  In addition to architecture, he was also a prolific author of numerous papers on local Rhode Island history and architecture, as well as historic building renovation.  Lom’s lifelong association with RSE and his keen interest in the preservation of the Clubhouse began with his senior thesis on the Clubhouse and the work of its architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue.  Over the years, Lom frequently provided input on Clubhouse renovation and maintenance projects and served on the board of trustees.
