Alumni Network News
An important element of this plan will be to increase alumni involvement and expand our network. This will serve to aid our new members in their professional and personal development. This is the first “pillar” which was identified in the student research which was done this past spring. This network can be utilized for professional mentoring, social interaction between our alumni and junior members, and support for these members through internships and ARCH programs.
To reach this goal we’d like to get further involvement from the full range of our alumni, both chronologically and across disciplines. We’re looking to set up administrators/coordinators to serve as point men across groups of classes from their era. A sign up for this can be completed below.
The Practicum group consists of 5 students who will generate plans for our relaunch over the 2021-22 school year. This will include some events to familiarize the RPI community with RSE, but won’t be specifically rush events. We plan to tread lightly at first and collect feedback so that we don’t get headed down the wrong path. Generating new members and filling 1501 immediately must take a back seat to developing a structure which ensures long term viability. It was noted at the Spring Society meeting that financially we could go 6-8 years without residents if that becomes necessary. We have no intention of taking that long, but it is good to know that we can move slowly. This should increase our chances for success.
So please help get RSE headed in the right direction by working with our Alumni Advisory Committee to expand our alumni network. If you are interested in helping, please email me at duraslotdave@gmail.com with the information below:

Also, please keep in mind that there will be a summer work week July 16-18 as discussed in the email from Charlie Adkins. This will serve to start preparing 1501 as a showcase for the RSE 3.0 events to be held in the upcoming school year. We plan to have a meeting/question and answer session also that weekend. For those who can’t make it we will provide an update on the status of RSE 3.0 via email later this summer. If you have not signed up for the work weekend and can attend please remember to sign up at https://www.rse.org/news/844-rse-work-weekend-july-16-18-2021.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything you’d like to discuss. If not, we hope to see you in July.
